Leveraging the annual buzz over March Madness, Bandai wanted to create their own tournament based on over two decades of the Power Rangers Series. The site allows Ranger fans to choose the ultimate squad out of the 20+ generations. The data received from voting, also allows fan to view the most popular series and ranger color. As incentive the site rewarded voters with coupons for merch, and other prizes.
Unfortunately the Mystic Green Ranger did not make the cut.
Site developed by Ugo Le Prudhomme and Mike Chang
The site allows Ranger fans to choose the ultimate squad out of the 20+ generations. The data received from voting also allow fans to view the most popular series and ranger color. As an incentive, the site rewarded voters with toy coupons as well as the chance to win the grand prize, a solid gold morpher.
As the voting continues, relevant stats, such as: popular teams, trending Rangers, and popular colors are displayed, giving additional insight into user trends.
In addition to merchandise coupons, when users voted in each round, they were automatically entered for a chance to win the grand prize: a 24K Gold Plated Legendary Morpher.
The Ranger Library allows users to see all the competing Rangers and whether or not they've been eliminated from the brackets. Users can also view specific details of desired Rangers, from their biography, to their gear and Zords.
As users receive their rewards, the Rewards tray acts as an archive allowing users to return and print out their desired coupons.
